Brighten Up!

Madewell top  |  Aritzia cardigan  |  J brand jeans  |  Pour la Victoire boots  |  Cambridge Satchel Company bag

I've been noticing recently that most of my everyday looks are pretty neutral and without a lot of color. So, I've been getting more use out of the Cambridge Satchel than I initially anticipated. It works with almost anything I'm wearing and instantly brightens up the look, as well as making it more current.

Neons are huge for spring! They even did a feature on neons on the Today Show this morning! Now, it's definitely become mainstream! If the neon is scaring you a bit though, definitely check out the other colors. The Cambridge Satchel comes in the full gamut of colors from brown to purple to metallic to white and at $155, it still is the most affordable it bag to date!

Oh and for those of you looking for boots, I absolutely love my Pour La Victoire boots (shown in the look above) I got from gilt last year. I wear them all the time (shown here, here, and here). I just saw that the black ones are on sale at bluefly with an additional 40% off so it's down to $137 from $410. It's the best price I've ever seen them for and I'm seriously contemplating buying them! What do you think? Do you ever buy something you love in more than one color?

Love the whole outfit - am very tempted by the shape of the Cambridge Satchel but not sure if I could EVER own a neon bag LOL! It's looks amazing on you though.

By the way - you look seriously glowing and gorgeous!

I love that pop of color!

And I'm guilty of always buying things in multiple colors :)

I wear a lot of neutrals myself. Love the way you added color via the satchel. I dont know if I have it in me to wear neons but the purple satchel I might be able to wear. Btw, the Bluefly link directs me to Neiman Marcus' J Brand site.

Love your blog, read your Houzz feature and ended up joining the website :)

Those Cambridge satchels are so cute, especially the neon ones which make the bag more unique. It's funny how a colour like that can turn out to be so versatile.

Thanks for the tip on the boot sale. I'm thinking about getting them. Do they run true to size? I usually wear 7.5 but they only have 8. Also, are they pretty roomy around the calves? Mine aren't super huge but they're not tiny either :) Thanks!

Anonymous: I usually go up half a size for boots anyway since I wear thicker socks w them. They're not super tight in the calves. They're pretty comfy. And if worse comes to worse, you can always return right? They look so sleek and cute on! Hope you love them as much as I do!

I just placed an order for the pink Cambridge satchel from Bloomie's with the 15% off. Is yours the 11" or bigger? I'm hoping to make this my new work bag. Do you have any pics of what it holds?

Anonymous: I have the 11" too. It's a good size to wear around casually but if you need a laptop, it will definitely not fit.
